UIDAI CEO AB Pandey Appointed as Interim Chairman

Ajay Bhushan Pandey, who is the Chief Executive Officer of UIDAI, has been appointed as the interim chairman of the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), the finance ministry said. He was given additional charge days after Navin Kumar, the previous GSTN chairman, completed his term on August 29.
Pandey takes the helm of the IT-backbone of Goods and Services Tax i.e. at a time when taxpayers are struggling with the new aspects of the new regime. The GSTN itself seems to need improvement as just last week, about 2.5 crore invoices were uploaded by the taxpayers that resulted in system instability.
The ministry expects GSTN to become stronger under Pandey’s governance.
