Unclaimed Deposits in Banks Increased 27% to 14,578 cr in 2018

This Monday, the Parliament was informed by the new finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman that unclaimed deposits in the banking system observed a 26.8% increase to ₹14,578 crores. She said that India’s largest public sector bank State Bank of India alone had 2,156 crores worth of unclaimed deposits at the end of 2018.
