Unmetered Consumers in UP to Expect 63% Rise in Tariff

This Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh government increased the power traffic for the current financial year that resulted in a 12.73% hike in the electricity cost for customers in all segments.

Customers located in the rural areas are to be affected by the tariff hike which is the highest since 2000 and will be effective from December 10.

The utility cost for the rural customers is expected to jump by as much as 63-66%. Metered rural customers, Commercial customers, and urban customers can also expect a hike of 57%, 8.5%, and circa 10% respectively.
