With Visa’s Support, Andhra Pradesh Government Makes Vizag “Less-Cash” City

Visa, which is one of the world’s biggest payments processing company, along with the government of Andhra Pradesh has set up digital payments support for a variety of state-provided services including water tax payments at Greater Vishakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC), and bus services by APSRTC, etc.

The move, that comes under the Vizag Digital Dhan Sankalp (VDDS) project has made the port city one step closer to becoming a completely cashless city.
The government said that Visa is also in the process of making other payments at small and micro-merchants, and street market vendors digitized.
