With Increasing Incidents of Mobile Data Thefts, Govt. to Issue New Policies

In the wake of the increasing cases of data thefts and leakages, the government has started working on a roadmap to tackle the problem. Some of the initiatives include tightening of the cyber security regulations in NTP (National Telecom Policy), inquiring phone manufacturers regarding their device safety standards, drafting new data protection laws, etc.
According to some of the the senior government officials, the government has been working on a number of policies and regulations to bolster the security of the mobile data. This is considered essential for the success of the ambitious “Digital India” program.
