World Economic Forum Ranks Switzerland as the World’s Most Competitive Economy
October 03, 2017
This Wednesday, Geneva-based World Economic Forum(WEF) declared Switzerland as the world’s most competitive economy for the ninth year in a row. Although the Land of Chocolate observed a rare slip in 2008 when the United States pushed it to the second place after replacement, it has maintained the top position ever since.
Thierry Geiger, who is a prominent WEF economist, said that even though Switzerland has an excellent infrastructure and some of the best institutions, its success can be mainly attributed to how it has created and used its talent.
