Yogi Government Eyes Rs. 50,000 cr Investment in Solar Energy Sector

The Uttar Pradesh government is aiming to attract an investment of Rs. 50,000 crores in the solar energy sector by 2022. It’s also targeting solar energy generation of as much as 10,700 megawatts during the same period as opposed to the modest 500-megawatt target set by the Akhilesh Yadav government which was pushed out of the administration in March 2017.
A new solar energy policy was recently approved by the Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet under which an exclusive Rs. 4,000 crore Green Energy Corridor would be established in the Bundelkhand region.
