Video marketing is becoming highly popular in today’s digital world. However, its success is dependent on your approach and the quality of the videos itself. If you want your videos to be loved by the target demographic and help in achieving your marketing goals, then be sure to ask yourself the following 4 major questions:
Q1. Is this video relevant to my audience?
The content of the video must be appropriate for your audience. If you are targeting teenagers then you can work with something edgy and new-age. However, if your audience is senior citizens, you may want to refrain from using slangs that they won’t understand or touching upon subjects that only the youth cares about.
Q2. What action do I want my audience to take?
This is another way of asking, what’s the goal of the video?
The following are some of the actions that you may want your viewers to take after watching the video:
- Visiting your website to find the product mentioned in the video
- Signing up for a weekly newsletter
- Visiting another video that covers the subject in more detail
Q3. Is the video in line with the brand voice?
In today’s competitive market, branding has to go hand in hand with marketing. In other words, the brand voice should be consistent across all platforms whether it’s social media or emails, video marketing or digital ads, etc. So, your videos should maintain the tone and values that the brand is associated with.
Q4. What platforms am I targeting?
You need to format your videos on the basis of the platforms you are targeting. For instance, if you are publishing on Facebook, then you should focus on creating videos that can work without audio i.e. with captions. However, if you are publishing on YouTube, then you can create longer videos with proper sound effects and background music.
