A Trip to Dubai - Thadomal Shahani Centre for Management
October 11, 2012
Yet another eventful interaction was with the “Coca Cola” company. Mr Carlos Olmos, (Eurasia and Africa Group Customer Director), spoke about Coca Cola as a business; it’s Branding, Positioning, Marketing in various regions. He also gave a presentation on research undertaken by “Coca Cola Retailing Research Council” about “Understanding shopper’s loyalty within different retail formats in Eurasia and Africa”. This turned out to be an intense and interesting discussion between the students and the expert.
The students were also taken to the very opulent, the land mark of Dubai, “The Dubai Mall”, the world’s largest shopping mall based on the shopping area. It was a great learning how a retail complex of such mega size is managed and designed and is a part of the $ 20 billion “Burj Khalifa” complex, the world’s tallest manmade free standing structure.
Also the experience of the giant brands from across the globe (located in Dubai Mall) mesmerised the students. Over all the students had a great learning along with loads of fun through Dubai City Tour, Dhow Cruise, Desert Safari and being a part of the commercial capital of UAE.
