"B School Accreditation Should be Meaningful", says Akhil Shahani at GBSN conference
October 11, 2012
accreditation bodies just look at input factors of B Schools like size of campus and number of faculty. None of them measure output factors like the quality of graduates that come out or their career paths after 5 years. Assuming that B Schools are supposed to accelerate the careers of their graduates, they need to be measured on how well they do so. Many industry recruiters privately complain that some graduates of Top B Schools are not worth the high salaries they command. Mr. Shahani called for a radical overhaul of the accreditation system to make it more industry friendly.
The main theme of the conference was how business schools could help solve real world problems. It had more than 150 business schools from around the world in attendance.
