The students of TSCMC had a chance to interact with Mr Vivek Sharma, who is the morderator at The Poetry Club and co- curator of poetry writing workshops at Alliance Francaise and Akanksha Foundation.
In the times of information explosion and a growing string of tv soaps and web series, that has our minds hooked and booked, we at TSCMC, wanted to do something that not only took away from the digital medium but also was a route to expression. We are a communication school after all. Our students, who are media aspirants, had a chance to interact with Vivek Sharma, who conducted a poetry workshop with them.
Poetry belongs to everyone. It doesn’t come wearing labels for its audience. It is a way to strip your thoughts bare and let them flow. Pauses, punctuations, visuals, verses, drama, dialogues, mess, meanings, gratitude, greed, and just a whole big bunch of everything that life can encompass. The beauty of poetry is that, you can go ahead and speak your mind and heart in four lines or spill your endless thoughts on pages.
The TSCMC students engaged in understanding what poetry is all about, its origin, its types, the elements, figures of speech, words, visuals, connecting the emotions to words, writing style, and many more intricacies. The students were even made to write short poems. Here’s a look at the poetic evening at our campus.
