This event was the first major event for me and my other two class mates. The event was a wedding which was held in Malad in The Retreat and Resort. It was a Destination Wedding of a Gujarati Couple which lasted 3 days.
In the Hotel, arrangements were made for the stay of the Groom’s family and his guests. Two girls were allocated duties in the Hotel at the reception desk to give guests their room keys. Another girl was in charge of Bride’s Resort where Bride’s family and their guests were staying.
The 1st day was all about the guests checking-in at the hotel. Some were exploring the hotel while the others rested in their respective rooms. There were some ladies who were in charge for application of Mehendi to guests. After the Mehendi session got over, there was the arrangement of parlor services for females. The bride with her relatives arrived in a hotel for Sangeet ceremony. There were some performances by their families. After all the performances, guests had their dinner and everybody went back to their rooms.
Well, that day was a lot of fun as not just guests but also the crew members rejoiced at the Sangeet. All the crew members danced and had fun. After all the enjoyment, we had to prepare for the next day which was the biggest day for Bride and Groom and for their respective families: the Wedding.
We were prepped for the following day.
The second day was that of the Wedding and Reception. The guests had breakfast and then there were parlor services available for females. Safa i.e. Turban for males was arranged in the lobby. An interesting aspect was that many females also had turban over their heads. The Wedding was held at the Resort. All Baris left from the hotel towards the Resort. It was a beach view Wedding. The entire ambiance was fantastic and the view was spectacular. After the wedding ceremony the guests had lunch and then finally Biden happened.
Post the wedding, few guests checked out of a hotel and we escorted them with some gifts.
The reception was held at the Hotel and it commenced at 8 pm. Guests met the Bride and Groom on the stage. Two girls were placed at the stage so as to ensure that things went on smoothly and that there would be no chaos. All the functions concluded around 12am after which families had dinner.
Everyone was happy and nostalgic at the same time.
The third day was about guests checking-out from the hotel. Guests had breakfast and then checked-out from the hotel with some gifts.
This was a fantastic experience for us as it gave us a great opportunity to learn the various aspects of wedding management which is an intrinsic part of Event Management.
