#CMCFACILITATORS

Prof. Javed A. Sajawal, with his experience in writing, direction and production in the Bollywood industry, shares his detailed insights as the ‘Campus Guru’ for his media students.

1) What is so different about this Media Campus?

Answer – I don’t know much about other Media campuses but I find this Campus to be a blend between the Past and the Present. The first floor represents the Past and the floor above displays the modern living. I always make time for both as one takes me back to a time when people, especially thinkers utilised their minds before technology and relied on observations and memories. The Second Floor makes me integrate both, thought and technology as I upgrade myself like a Darwinian Law.

2) Which is the favourite assignment that you have given?

Answer – That would be my Event Management Fundamentals and Application assignment which I had given to my students of the PG-IMAC, PD-ADPR and Event Management Batch 1 and 2. It was selecting an event individually and planning as a venue manager with the application of various Fundamentals like Hospitality, Mapping, Safety and Security Protocols, Catering and Cost Benefit Analysis. All my students exceeded my expectations with obviously a few corrections in the end but they got the job done.

3) Which is the favourite #LiveProject that you have given?

Answer – That would be the Unity in Diversity Project which was actually an Event for The Shahani Group, The Global Dialogue Foundation and The UNAOC to be organised by the students of TSCMC. This event took three months in the making and required all our resources to come together. But to be frank, this event bought all the students together as one unit and more importantly taught them how to function as one unit. As a teacher to guide them as a leader was a difficult process but since they started functioning together I came to believe in all of them and they found different reasons to make us all proud. Not only did I learn a valuable lesson in leadership and teamwork but so did our students. I stand proud of being a part of that team.

4) Which is the first adjective which comes to your mind when you enter the campus?

Answer – None as the first word that comes to mind is a verb, ‘EXPLORE’ because that what education in media should represent. A continual exploration in the world of conceptualisation and creative upbringing. I believe that education should be about finding the muchness in you and the world around. As I have said before, “I feel like Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole or walking through the looking glass… Curious and Curiouser… “.
