This video depicts the use of a tool known as Mobli Kunji and a course called Mobile Academy that has been designed to impart information and at the same time in helping the community workers to reduce child mortality and improve maternal health.
The biggest challenge was to make information accessible to the media dark communities in inaccessible areas. Thus, Mobile Academy a course on imparting information regarding health care came into existence. This academy consisted of a course of 190 minutes with 9 chapters which the community workers had to undertake. There were simple navigation steps which made it easier for the rural population especially females to understand and impart it in a better way to their fellow villagers. In addition to Mobile Academy, a pocket size multimedia job aid called Mobli Kunji was introduced which was colour coded and shaped like a phone. This linked each card to an audio message via a simple phone call. The IVR is designed in a very simple manner. Also, the dialect and language are local so that it is easily understood by the people. The villagers also didn’t have to invest money in order to get educated.
In addition to the above efforts taken there was also a voice of Dr. Anita who spoke to the expectant mothers and community workers on their mobile phones. It was a character who spoke like a doctor and made her alive. She spoke with a lot of authority and credible source of information as well as care. The villagers listened to her attentively to make sure that they were taking good care of their health. The villagers actually felt that she was a real person and they listened to her advice.
