Video is the most popular media format today as nearly a third of online activity is spent watching video. This is because you can put a lot of information in a single video. If you are creative, then you can easily make a boring topic look fun. This kind of flexibility is hard to find in any other content format.

The attention span of an average individual is reducing at a huge rate with some reports saying that it has dropped to a mere 8 seconds from the previous 12 seconds. So, if you are trying to explain a particular product or service to a lead with a snippet of 2-3 paragraphs, they may lose attention before completing the first paragraph. However, a video is dynamic and looks far more interesting than text. So, it has the potential to get the message across rather easily.

On most social media platforms and websites in general, a large portion of the content is static which includes images and text. Thus, a user going through their social media feed comprising of status updates and snapshots is likely to pause when they see a video.
