How to Raise PF Related Complaints Online?
August 18, 2017
PF (Provident Fund) or EPF (Employee Provident Fund) is a government scheme under which the employees working under non-government sectors can enjoy retirement benefits akin to the pension scheme that’s offered to the government employees. In fact, every company that has over 20 employees is required by the law to register with the EPFO (Employees Provident Fund Organization).
In EPF, 12% of your salary is added to your EPF account by you and your employer. Out of this 12%, the employer contributes 8.33%, while you contribute 3.67%.
EPFO Grievance
Employees who want to register a grievance can approach the EPFO. The organization has set up a Grievance Management System for handling the specifics. You can file any kind of complaint regarding EPF contribution, transfer, withdrawal, etc.
The following are some of the key points to remember about the EPFO Grievance Management System:
- From January 1, 2016, onwards, employees are required to provide their EPF UAN number when registering a complaint with the authority. So, if you don’t know your EPF UAN yet, you won’t be able to lodge your complaint.
- EPFO Grievance System is available for not just the employees, but the employers and pensioners as well who want to raise a complaint.
- According to the guidelines, an EMP complaint must be resolved within 30 days. If yours hasn’t during this time, then you can take up the issue with the authority.
If you want to raise an EPF complaint, then follow these steps:
- Go to the EPFO I Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS) portal at EPFiGMS.
- Click “REGISTER GRIEVANCE” that’s next to the “HOME” tab.
- Fill out the form along with the details of your grievance in the relevant area.
- Enter the verification code at the bottom and click the “submit” button.
- A confirmation message will be displayed on the screen along with a registration number. Note down this number for future reference.
- That’s it! You are done!
