Agam Mishra, our IMAC student, takes us on a journey of PEPSI; understanding the voice of the campaign through his poems.
The emotional connotation of a brand always holds a higher value when it comes to its audiences. Pepsi, being an aerated drink has had to stand a face-off with one of its lead competitors – CocaCola. However, the evolution of the brand through its campaign has always held a strong recall. Pepsi didn’t only manage to get the words right but the sentiments too.
Agam Mishra, explores and explains the same.

Campaign: Yahi Hai Right Choice Baby, Aha!
Message of the campaign: Pepsi is the perfect drink to chill out with hence everyone wants Pepsi.

Ek ladki hai mere pados mein

Aayi mere paas and told me

I want Pepsi, abhi-abhi!

Ghar mein thi Pepsi khatam

Kuch aur peene ka nahi tha uska maan,

Puri karne ke liye uski khwaish

I had to jump from the khidki

To get this beauty her Pepsi.

Kardi meine uski yeh wish puri

Lekin agle hi minute mein

Aayi ek aur Pepsi ki demand;

Abb toh samjh chuka tha main bhi

Ki agar karna ho chill with a drink that owns your dil,

Toh aayegi tujhko bhi yeh pasand

Just like these two beautiful ladies

Because, Yahi Hai Right Choice Baby!

Gentlemen ka Unofficial drink

Campaign: Nothing Official about it.

Message of the campaign: CocaCola had won the bid of sponsorship for the Cricket World Cup, and was the official drink. The core idea of this campaign by Pepsi was to give them a befitting reply.

Yeh game hai gentleman ka

Yaha rules regulation se khelne ka

Kaise uthne ka, baithne ka, bolne ka

Har time discipline mein rehne ka

But no rules for pepsi, iski strike hai mast malang

Official Nahi, par chahaat ka vahi rang!

Humey Chahiye Aur

Campaign: Yeh Dil Maange More!

Message of the campaign: Pepsi based this campaign on how its target audience- youth; aspires for more in life.


Kitna bhi humko dedo

Humey chahiye thoda aur

Humarey iraadey bejodh

Kyunki, Yeh Dil Maange More!

Chahat Hai Badhi

Campaign: Yeh Pyaas Hai Badhi!

Message of the campaign: If you want to achieve something you have it give it your all, is the core idea of this campaign!

 

Meri life nahi sorted

Kyunki main hun zara hatke.

Mera target hai distant

Aur jeet milti nahi instant.

Pata chala mujhe abhi

Meri chahat hai badi.

Mushkilon ka samna

Apne alag style mein karta hu,

Mujhe kiska daar?

Irado se mohabaat ho agar!

Dil ki baat sunkar

Aagye kadam bada ta hu,

Dekhoge agar gaur se,

Toh, opportunity hai har waqt humare samne khadi

Kyunki usey bhi patta hai, Yeh Pyaas Hai Badi!

Philosophy Hai Nayi

Campaign: Yeh Hai Youngistaan Meri Jaan!

Message of the campaign: Youth of our nation which eats a big share in the total population; is full of ideas, energy and dreams.


Meri philosophy hai nayi

Meri life hai nayi

Karta hu khud par yakeen.

Challenges se khel kar

Rules ki boundary tod kar

Naye records set karta hu.

Hai mujhko khud par abhimaan

Kyunki mujhe patta hai meri pehchaan

Yeh Hai Youngistan Meri Jaan!

Message of the campaign: Don’t wait for anything, make it happen right now!

Haasil karna hai abhi.

Rok di meine intezaar ki ghadi;

Kismat is raha par saath degi mera

Kar dikhana hai mujhko kuch

Campaign: Pepsi Thi! Pi Gaya!

Message of the Campaign: No reason to drink Pepsi; grab it anytime.

Main hun kamaal ka

Risky tha, par khel gaya

Pepsi Thi… Pi Gaya!

Life Ko Jee Liya

Campaign: Socha Nahi Ji Gaya

Message of the Campaign: In this campaign, Pepsi executes about some specific words for each situation and shows how you can still win through with a Pepsi.



Has diya

Ro diya

Life ko jee gaya.

Dekhi gate pe ladki

Dil ki feeling bol diya.

Situation thi bhaari

Maine kalti maar liya.

Sabki bolti kar di band

Because swag maar diya.

Museebat dikhi, par usne bhi has kar mooh mod liya

Is jeet ke ehsaas ko bhi mehsus kar liya

Socha Nahi Ji Gaya

Pepsi thi pi gaya!
