Making waves with music, Pranav Kelkar
August 02, 2017
It would take us more than a lifetime to experience all forms of music that have existed. From the sounds of the nature to the work of great men, who have inspired us through their craft and detailed work; music has impacted the human race as a whole. Music being a form of art, can easily be labelled as a living essential.
It goes without saying that its absence would create a great void in all our lives. India, being a culturally diverse country, our heritage is laced with the finest work of art, music, literature and a lot more that makes us who we truly are. A symbolic representation of cultural confluence.
At TSCFM we embrace this diversity and are extremely proud to have talented students like Pranav Kelkar, who in the age of EDM, is still practicing and performing classical music, carrying the roots of India to other places. Pranav, who is an MBA student with us, is a classical vocalist of Atrauli Gharana. He says, “It has been an honour and privilege to be born with an ability to understand rhythm and notes. While I would call it a blessing bestowed upon me, I will always remain grateful to the Almighty and my Gurus; my mother being the first one. UstadMehaboob Khan was my teacher for several years and taught me as he would teach his own son with all due patterns and techniques. He always asked me to become an artiste and not mime his style. I am currently being mentored by Smt. Pratima Tilak, who is a student of the legendary KaushalyaManjeshwar and KamaltaiTambe, both huge names in Jaipur Gharana Gaayaki.”
Pranav, who has graduated with a hotel management degree is absolutely fascinated by French Patisserie as he finds it extremely rhythmic and emotive just like the Indian music. His creative skills and remarkable talent will be taking him to theTEDx platform this time.
Our gem is all set to perform at TEDx, Thane on 6th August 2017. We wish him all the very best and hope to see him go miles ahead.
