August 14, 2013
Once again presenting their work before an eminent guest judge and CFM management and faculty, the students were confident about their performance this time around.
PGDBM (Finance) student Manali Jain was a summer intern at Money Matters Financial Ltd.
First up was PGDBM (Finance) student Manali Jain who presented her work at Money Matters Financial Services Ltd. Manali was asked to do a demand and supply assessment of the real estate market in Bangalore. She undertook extensive research to identify macro and micro factors influencing the city’s real estate market. After tabulating the data she used various statistical tools to draw conclusions. Her presentation was well thought out and confidently delivered. View her complete presentation here.
PGDBM (Marketing) student Luv Joukani was a summer intern at Mother Dairy
Next on the dais was PGDBM (Marketing) student Luv Joukani who talked about his experience in a sales position at Mother Dairy. The brief given to him by the company was to increase the sale of Mother Dairy ice-cream through retail outlets. Luv’s description of the work process was enlightening and held the audience’s attention all through the presentation. Luv’s major achievement in the three months he was an intern was in being able to convince 34 retail outlets to exclusively sell Mother Dairy ice-cream, even though it was in the middle of the monsoon! See his presentation here.
Next was PGDBM (Finance) student Salil Rane who spoke about the challenges he faced in procuring new clients at PhillipCapital. After going through the company’s internal database, Salil extended his reach to cold calling other potential clients and met with a fair measure of success. See his presentation here.
PGDBM (Finance) student Salil Rane and PGDBM (HR) student Rohit Gosai were the other finalists
The last on the stand was PGDBM (HR) student Rohit Gosai whose summer internship work at Radio City 91.1 FM included finding out about performance management systems of HR departments in other companies and measure their effectiveness. Rohit’s mentor was so happy with his work that he is still working on a part-time basis at Radio City! See his presentation here.
Finally, it was Luv Joukani who managed to impress the guest judge with his ability to link his practical experience with theories that he had learned in the classroom. It was clear that Luv was a crowd favourite as well as his classmates cheered when his name was announced!
