Use of holographic projection – A creative tech idea from planners

A hologram involves the use of various tools such as laser, diffraction and light intensity to develop an image. That image appears to change depending on the position and orientation of the viewer. The hologram itself is not an image and it is usually unintelligible when viewed under diffuse ambient light.
Holography is a technique that enables a light field, which is generally the product of a light source scattered off objects, to be recorded and later reconstructed when the original light field is no longer present, due to the absence of the original objects.

Holograms can play tricks with the eye and in many cases, a viewer can believe an image or action is actually real when in fact it is a 3D-like projection e.g. when looking at a hologram of someone playing football, the illusion that you could touch the ball is very real.Viewers at the other end will feel the presence of a REAL person in front of them and also interact with the projected ‘Virtual” person, without wearing any kind of 3D glasses, as they interact with ‘Actual Person’.

In India, this technology became a point of discussion when BJP leader (current Prime Minister) Narendra Modi used 3D holographic projections to address dozens of rallies simultaneously on a Sunday; a MAGIC created for the first time in Indian politics.

Recently a holographic projection of Late Shri Aditya Vikram Birla provided invitees of their annual rewards and recognition event with a moment to cherish. To commemorate the 20th death anniversary of the Founder of the Aditya Birla Group, the event management team conceptualised, planned and executed the most advanced digital resurrection by Hologram in the world.

Through a detailed process of studying about his life, his mannerisms and by engaging experts in anthropology, as well as by going through the detailed archives of his family and studying his family members, we recreated the Founder in the form of a hyper-photo-realistic hologram.

This technology is becoming more sophisticated and production costs are decreasing day by day. As a result, holograms are becoming more accessible and may soon become a standard feature in conference and event planning. As an event planner adding 3D holographic projection in your marketing mix highlights the x- factor in live events, shows, product launches, exhibitions, conferences, TV shows and presentations.

As a corporate marketing tool, in India, advertisers are pushing all boundaries today to deliver successful campaigns for their clients. Even clients are ready to experiment and have accepted the idea of fusing technology and creative thinking together. Companies today can project anything with holographic imagery.

  • They can represent their products and its features in the most accurate and engaging manner
  • Business meeting and teleconferences can be held in different places and one can address thousands of people simultaneously
  • With this technology, a person can present himself live (Real-Time Holographic Projection) and also interact with the audience “LIVE”, without even being there
