Why MBA isn’t a waste of time despite its myth
October 14, 2019
“Don’t do MBA. It’s a waste of money.”
“Doing MBA just robs you off. Start your own business. You’ll earn more”
“MBA will put you in a huge student loan debt which you won’t be able to pay off for years.”
A lot of times, we get to hear that pursuing an MBA is meaningless, and it’s better to start one’s own business rather than investing money and time.
You might have also come across certain ads on your social media feed talking about signing up for a short term course to help you achieve your long term management career goal, but let’s be honest! It doesn’t work that way.
We are not denying that short term courses or master class won’t help you, it definitely will. But, what an MBA degree can teach you cannot be gained through any other means.
The truth is,
Not everyone can run a business.
Not everyone can take on the risk of not being paid monthly.
Not everyone can be successful if they start a business.
Well, let just get one thing clear:
It all depends upon what you want as your career path and what you choose to do for yourself.
But how do you know whether you should pursue an MBA?
As not everyone dislikes a 9-5 job.
Not everyone wants to directly start a business.
Don’t consider an MBA degree as a waste of time and money. It’s only a waste of time and money if you don’t know what you want to do in the future or haven’t figured out yet and you are opting for an MBA degree just out peer pressure or confusion.
MBA enhances your overall personality. It teaches you business acumen and gives us immense knowledge on what business needs and what it takes to start a business or a company.
Investing in MBA is a one time investment but it pays for a long time.
If you want to pursue an MBA, then go for it. But also look for which university you are going to invest in because your future career path is going to be build up on your this decision.
Look for an MBA program which can offer you –
- Global Qualifications
- Experiential learning
- Industry visits and live projects
- The degree must be valid in the industry
- Higher Employment Rates
MBA is a step towards your better future. But it is not a shortcut to success. The degree will help you learn the right business and industry mantra for success, but provided you choose your college well.
