₹ 325 cr Invested by Bharti Enterprises, Bharti Airtel in Payments Bank

According to regulatory documents, Bharti Enterprises and Bharti Airtel have invested around ₹325 crores in Airtel Payments Bank. The former’s contribution is ₹65 crores and the latter’s is ₹260 cr, although both have invested in the form of preference shares.

Anubrata Biswas, who is the managing director and CEO of Airtel Payments  Bank said that the company will keep on injecting more money into the operations to capitalize on the massive opportunity that’s presented itself. He also said that the bank is enjoying accelerated growth on the back of the government’s push for a digital economy. As of today, it has more than 5,00,000 retail banking points.
