₹2.55 trn Lost by Investors as Economic Slump Leads to Crashing Stocks

This Tuesday, a sharp drop in the equity market led to the plunging of around ₹2.55 trillion worth of investor wealth. The BSE benchmark Sensex dropped by 769.88 points to 33,562.91 i.e. around 2%.

MD and CEO of Axis Securities, Arun Thukral said that weak auto sales and lower expected GDP growth rate have caused the markets to react accordingly. He said that while the finance ministry has taken counteracting measures recently to minimize risk, more problems are expected still.
