₹7,000 cr Granted to NITI Aayog for AI Project

According to a report by Business Standard, India’s think-tank body NITI Aayog has been authorized to receive ₹7,000 crores from the government for its Artificial Intelligence program. It said that the body’s been sanctioned to spend as much as ₹7,000 crores till 2024-25.

It’s worth noting that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and NITI Aayog had a bit of an argument over the AI project as there were overlaps between the standalone AI projects of both entities.
