1,500 Firms Investigated for Shell Companies

After identifying more than 200,000 suspicious companies for potential operations as shell companies, the central government has now brought 1,505 new firms under the scanner.

The ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) said that several Registrars of Companies (ROCs) have been asked to probe these companies under Section 206 of the Companies Act. Upon the completion of the investigation, the department will take the appropriate measures.
