January 04, 2017
Cold-calling can be intimidating unless you use it as an opportunity to brand your product and guide your customers to get the best solution that they need.
Top 5 tips for cracking the cold calling conundrum
- Prepare yourself mentally
Mental preparation is a must when you want to perform well while cold calling. Your voice should not sound shuttered or tense. You should be well prepared to answer all the queries raised by the customer. - Practice
To overcome the fear of speaking with the customers, you need to practice hard. You can take the help of your friends and family to give you feedback and improve your skills accordingly. You should record your voice and listen to the recording to find out how you sound and what are the areas that you need to improve upon. - Imagination
It is always a good idea to imagine yourself on the other side of the call and try to pretend that you are the customer. This will help you to realise what they are expecting from you and how they are going to react to what you offer. - Set a goal
Setting a goal is important to help you to be patient and relaxed while you are cold calling. Set realistic goals and do not rush with the calls. - Take a break
Speaking for a prolonged hour makes you mentally and physically tired. A break is a must need at that point of time to help you ease the pressure. Take a five minute break after every 10 or 15 calls. You should cool your nerves, take deep breaths, drink some water and re-energize yourself.
