2 Years of GST: Here’s What India Wants

As the Goods and Services Tax (GST) completes two years in India, traders and suppliers across the country said they now want the regime to take the next step by bringing alcohol, real estate, oil & gas, and electricity under its ambit. They also want the system to work under only 2-3 slabs.

President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) President Vikram Kirloskar said that GST 2.0 will take the Indian economy to the next year. Similarly, Ficci President Sandip Somany said that while the initial issues with the GST regime have been resolved now, it’s time to meet the original objective of creating a simpler taxation system.
