33.3% of Cyber Attacks in Banks Successful: Report Says

A recent report by Accenture has revealed that nearly 1 in every 3 cyber attacks in banks is successful, thus raising a concern for the customers and financial institutions alike.
The report titled” ‘Building Confidence: Solving Banking’s Cybersecurity Conundrum’, was based on the information provided by 275 senior security executives in banking and capital market industries from across the globe.
The participants said that they experienced about 85 serious attempts on security breaches every year. Although, malware and phishing attacks occurred every day, and about 36% of the attacks were successful. The culprits were able to assess at least some kind of unauthorized information. Surprisingly, for more than half (56%) of the banks, it took several months to identify the breaches.
