600 Zomato Employees Laid off, Company Blames Technology

Food ordering and delivery app Zomato recently laid off 600 workers which make for about 10% of its entire workforce. Earlier in 2015, it had let go of 300 employees, the company said.

Zomato said that after the recent layoffs, the workforce is made up of 5,000 employees. It said that the decision was taken to correct “redundancies” that resulted from improvements in technology.
