7,000 Steps Taken by Government to Improve Business Operations, Says Nirmala Sitharaman

Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that more than 7,000 big and small steps have been taken by the government to this date to improve the ease of doing business in the country. She also added that the efforts to improve the business climate are still underway as the ministry is working with the states. Some of these efforts include the e-biz project, simplifying the formal procedure for imports and exports, etc.

As per the World Bank’s latest ‘Doing Business’ 2017 report, India has not made much progress as it continues to stand on the 130 rank, although it’s a minor improvement from last year’s 131 positions. The government aims to be a part of the top 50, which is why it’s taking steps to improve ease of doing business.
