8 Routes Under UDAN Operational Since Friday: Aviation Ministry

This Saturday, the Civil Aviation Ministry said that 8 routes under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme have become functional. This takes the total number of routes under the same to 194.
The government launched the UDAN scheme on October 21, 2016, to make air travel affordable to the “common man”. As many as 705 routes have been approved under the same out of which 8 were added recently which are Shillong-Kolkata, Kolkata-Shillong, Mysore-Cochin, Cochin-Mysore, Goa-Mysore, Mysore-Goa, Mysore-Hyderabad, and Hyderabad-Mysore.
