Aadhaar Can’t be Made Mandatory for School Admissions, Warns UIDAI
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has stated that schools can’t forcefully seek the Aadhaar information of students to grant them admission. It’s further warned them that if they are found to be indulging in this practice, then the Supreme Court may take legal action against them.

The statement from Aadhaar-issuing body comes at a time when admissions to entry-level classes are actively ongoing in the national capital. Many schools are asking the Aadhaar documents of the students insisting it to be a part of the procedure.
