Aadhaar of 30,000 Children in Care Homes Linked with Tracking Portal
In light of recent reports of children going missing from shelter homes, the government has linked the Aadhaar cards of more than 30,000 children living in child care institutions (CCIs) to a child tracker portal called Track Child.

Track Child portal is a centralized database of all the children who have gone missing in different parts of the country. It can be accessed by police departments, state governments, and child homes.

A Women and Child Development official said that 30,835 Aadhaar numbers of children have been linked to Track Child so far. It’s expected that more will be added soon as there are total 261,556 children living in more than 9,000 CCIs across the country.
