About 40% of Taxpayers Yet to Complete Registration Under GST

Even as we are nearing the last day for filing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns, as many as 40% of the taxpayers who have registered on the GST Network (GSTN) are yet to complete the process.
While these taxpayers have migrated to the GST portal successfully, they are yet to complete the enrollment process by filling out the Part B of the form which is necessary for filing the returns.
According to GSTN, out of 71 lakh taxpayers from the previous taxation regime, only 44 lakhs have successfully completed the GSTN enrollment process. Thus, there are still 27 lakh taxpayers who have left out.
