Airtel’s Nxtra to invest to scale up data centres in India

Bharti Airtel on Tuesday stated its subsidiary Nxtra Data will invest round ₹1,750 crores to scale up data centre infrastructure and cloud services across the nation.

The company also introduced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation for putting in place new records centre campuses inside the country.

“Recently, The Caryle Group via its entities announced a funding of USD 235 million (round ₹1,750 crore) for a 25 consistent with cent stake in Nxtra at a put up money valuation of USD 1.2 billion. Nxtra will use the proceeds from this transaction to preserve scaling up its infrastructure and offerings throughout India,” Bharti Airtel said in an announcement. The new facilities will arise at Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra.
