Alphabet to launch new company called Intrinsic

Alphabet Inc’s secretive research unit said on Friday it will launch Intrinsic, its new robotic software and artificial intelligence project, under the Google parent’s segment that houses futuristic organizations like Verily and Waymo.

To expand beyond its principle search and advertising business, Google in 2015 set up Alphabet as a holding organization managing “other bets “, going from its autonomous vehicle unit to helium balloons that give sunlight based fueled internet services in remote areas.

intrinsic creates software tools designed to make industrial robots that can be used to make everything from solar panels to vehicles and has been incubating its technology at Google’s research unit, X, for more than five years.

“We’re currently prepared to become an independent Alphabet organization, leaving the moonshot manufacturing plant’s fast prototyping ecosystem to focus on developing our product and approving our technology,” said Wendy Tan White, CEO of Intrinsic, adding the organization was looking to hire individuals.
