Amazon announces measures to help SMBs

Amazon India on Saturday announced a slew of measures, including various fees paid by venders, to help small and medium organizations in the midst of the destructive second wave of the COVID pandemic.

The e-commerce major said it is postponing 50% of the ‘sell-on-amazon’ or ‘reference fee’ from May 1-31 for a segment of dealers and will repay storage charges and long haul stockpiling charges charged for keeping sellers’ products at its distribution centers for traders based out of non-serviceable pin codes.

“We comprehend the present circumstance is affecting small and medium organizations (SMBs) the most and we are taking a large group of measures to assist our dealers with exploring the financial difficulties brought about by the pandemic,” Amazon India Vice President Manish Tiwary said in a blog post.

Amazon India has over 8.5 lakh sellers on its platform. It is temporarily relaxing up the case windows for different sorts of reimbursements that the sellers file for 30 days, the e-commerce firm said.
