Amazon to Launch Satellites to Make Broadband Internet More Accessible
April 06, 2019
Amazon is looking to making high-speed broadband Internet connection accessible to more and more people by setting up a network of around 3,236 satellites.
Under Project Kuiper, the retail giant will focus on people across the world that don’t have access to broadband Internet by launching a constellation of low earth orbit satellites that can activate the service. It’s seen as a big step towards building a next-gen broadband network in space, something that other big players like OneWeb and SpaceX are also racing for.
