Andhra Pradesh Conserving ₹1,000 cr Worth of Power Every Year with Energy Efficiency

The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a number of steps to conserve power including the installation of LED street lights, promotion of LED bulbs and energy saving applications, and installation of solar pumps in farm fields, etc. These efforts have allowed it to save 2,000 million units of power every year which converts to savings of ₹1,000 crores.
A senior government official said that the government aims to achieve a target of 30 lakh LED streetlights by the end of the year. He said that no other state has been able to achieve this feat.
