Another GST Council Meeting to be Held Today Under Arun Jaitley’s Chairmanship

The GST Council is going to hold its 15th meeting today which will be chaired by finance minister Arun Jaitley. It will decide the tax rates of biscuits, golds, and several other commodities while considering the representations received from the industry.
According to an official release, the amendments of draft GST rules and related items are also on the agenda of the meeting. It also said that this meeting could possibly be the last meeting before the final launch of the GST model law i.e. July 1.
Over the last month, the GST Council has finalized tax rates of about 1200 goods and 500 services. In its 15th meeting, it will take care of the remaining goods and services.
