Ashneer Grover Launches ZeroPe App for Medical Loans
April 15, 2024
Former BharatPe managing director Ashneer Grover is making a comeback in the fintech industry with a new app called ZeroPe, which focuses on offering medical loans to users.
ZeroPe, currently in testing phase and available on the Google Play Store, is developed by a company named Third Unicorn, founded by Grover post his exit from BharatPe. In 2023, Third Unicorn launched CrickPe, a fantasy gaming platform.
The app has partnered with Delhi-based Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) Mukut Finvest to provide instant pre-approved medical loans of up to Rs 5 lakhs. ZeroPe’s services are accessible only at partnered hospitals, according to its official website.
Besides ZeroPe, several other apps like Fibe, SaveIn, Neodocs, Kenko Qube Health, Arogya Finance, and Mykare Health also offer instant financing solutions for medical expenses and specific treatments.
Digital-first startups leverage data-driven approaches to offer medical loans for various healthcare needs including hospitalization, home care, and chronic care management. These apps integrate hospital networks, health insurance providers, and government healthcare schemes into their platforms.
A joint report by consulting firm Boston Consulting Group and venture capital firm B Capital predicts that India’s digital healthcare market will generate $37 billion in revenue by 2030. Healthcare financing is anticipated to constitute $5 billion of this total.
