Asia to Make for Top 50% of World GDP by 2040: Report

According to a new discussion paper by McKinsey Global Institute (MGI), Asia is projected to make for the top 50% of global GDP by 2040 and meet the requirements of 40% of the world’s consumption.

The report titled “Asia’s Future is Now” said that Asia’s increasing consumption and integration into the international flows of talent, capital, trade, and innovation is one of the “most dramatic developments” in the last 30 years.

The report said that Asia made just a third of the global GDP in 2000 and now it’s on track to making half of global GDP by 2040.
