Ayushman Bharat Scheme to be Initially Launched with Public Hospitals Only
India’s most ambitious national healthcare scheme Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana Abhiyan aka Ayushman Bharat will be operational with just the public hospitals, at least initially. This is because the private hospitals have refused to come on board due to unsatisfactory prices quoted by the government in the model tender document for the treatments.

Ayushman Bharat, which will be launched on September 25 i.e. the birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Deendayal Upadhyay is projected to cost the exchequer Rs. 20,000 in the first year.
