Bank of England May Witness 75,000 Job Losses After Brexit

As Britain prepares to leave the European Union in 2019, Bank of England(BoE) expects it to lose as many as 75,000 jobs in the financial services segment.

Although BoE Deputy Governor Sam Woods recently said that the estimate 10,000 job losses as per a Reuters survey was a reasonable figure, this Tuesday’s BBC report suggests the expected number to be about 75,000. If anything, this is a more conservative number compared to the one given by London Stock Exchange’s chief executive Xavier Rolet who said it could be as many as 232,000.
