BBB Interviews Four Candidates for the Post of SBI Chairman

Chaired by former Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai, the Banks Board Bureau interviewed four candidates for the SBI chairman’s post yesterday. The candidates were all managing directors of the SBI group and contested for the post that became vacant in October when Arundhati Bhattacharya took retirement.
The importance of the chairman post of SBI is even greater now after the merger. Taking its five associate banks along with Bharatiya Mahila Bank under its umbrella, SBI has now become one of the top 50 lenders of the world.
