Brick-Mortar Stores Join Flipkart, Amazon to Liquidate Stocks at High Discounts

As the rollout date for the GST regime is coming closer, offline as well as online stores are offering all kinds of discounts to clear their stocks.

Although traders and manufacturers will get the benefit of input tax credits that will help lower their tax burden, most of them still want to liquidate their stocks to avoid hassles and problems with the transition.

The end of year sale, which is usually held during mid-July has been preponed, and major outlets such as Lifestyle and Shoppers Stop are also running offers such as buy one get one free, etc. Interestingly, online stores are also offering mega discounts, like Amazon’s Wardrobe Fresh sale and Jabong’s End of Reason Sale (EROs).
