Budget 2019: Government Allocates ₹6,400 cr to Ayushman Bharat

This Friday, Piyush Goyal announced that the national healthcare scheme Ayushman Bharat will receive ₹6,400 crores under the 2019 budget. He said that as many as 10 lakh patients have benefited from the scheme and saved ₹3,000 crores.
Ayushman Bharat aka Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) offers insurance cover of ₹5 lakhs to individual households and currently covers more than 50 crore financially-weak families under its ambit.
