Business taking to WhatsApp in a big way
Many organizations, government institutions, and entrepreneurs are currently launching their services on the WhatsApp business platform each month as adoption by clients is accelerating, Abhijit Bose, head of WhatsApp India told ET.

“WhatsApp connects more than 400 million clients in India who trust us on messaging, audio, and video calls. In India, services on the WhatsApp API platform have grown altogether. Individuals today would prefer not to call a 1-800 number and look out for a hold, or send an email and not realize whether it’s been read. They need to communicate something specific and get a speedy, personalized response,” he said.

“There are several interesting product updates which we declared for this present year and there will be a few others which we will launch soon. Across the world, WhatsApp is rapidly turning into the virtual store counter for clients to draw in with brands, ask questions, discuss products, close deals and look for support,” he added.

He said organizations in telecom, ed-tech, media and entertainment, and BFSI are large adopters of the WhatsApp Business platform.
