Cabinet Gives Green Signal for GSTN Body to Become 100% Govt-Owned
The Cabinet has given a nod to the government to acquire 100% equity in the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) Corporation. At present, only 49% of the organization is owned by the government and the remaining 51% is owned by private entities including LIC Housing Finance, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and NSE Strategic Investment Co.

As per the new equity structure, 50% of GSTN will be owned by the central government and the other half by the state governments.
