CAs Facing Most Heat Under New Norms, Says Srinivas

Corporate Affairs Secretary Injeti Srinivas said that as the instances of frauds at companies are on the rise, it’s the chartered accountants that are facing the most heat today. He said that some of the reasons behind that are strong accounting standards, auditing standards, the emergence of National Financial Reporting Authority (NAFRA), etc.

Srinivas said that credit rating agencies aren’t facing as much heat as statutory auditors. He added that talks have now begun to revisit the framework for credit rating agencies.
